*The Consulate of Belize in Los Angeles will be closed on the dates indicated above in observance of American and Belizean holidays. 

If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the Consulate will be closed the preceding Friday. 

If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the Consulate will be closed the following Monday.

  • Emergency Travel Documents

An EMERGENCY TRAVEL DOCUMENT is issued to someone if their passport is expired and that person needs to leave the country immediately. A person will not be allowed to board a flight destined for a foreign country with an expired passport. EMERGENCY TRAVEL DOCUMENTS are then issued to facilitate leaving the United States. At this point, you must renew your passport in Belize before returning to the U.S. You will NOT be allowed back into the U.S. without a valid passport. Documents needed to complete an EMERGENCY TRAVEL DOCUMENT application are:

  • Need to have an emergency and will be traveling within the next week

  • Expired Passport or Original Birth Certificate

  • Valid I.D.

  • Completed Application

  • 2 Passport Size Photos

  • Fee of $70.00

  • Name Change

A DEED POLL is required to facilitate a name change. Name changes are usually performed on birth certificates. This document can be completed in the office. DEED POLL applications are available in the office.

  • Life Certificate

A LIFE CERTIFICATE is needed by individuals who retires in Belize and currently lives in a foreign country. The LIFE CERTIFICATE is filed with the Social Security Office in Belize as prove of life. Documents needed to complete a LIFE CERTIFICATE application are available in the office.

  • Marriage Certificate Application

Applications can be obtained in the Consulate’s Office to obtain a BELIZE MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE needed to show for proof of marriage.

  

  • Death Certificate Application

Applications can be obtained in the Consulate’s Office to obtain a BELIZE DEATH CERTIFICATE needed to show for proof of death.
